Every friendship has its limits, and Kaavia James hit hers when her friend bragged about losing more baby teeth than she had. Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade shared the adorable moment on Kaavia’s Instagram account, and it cements her spot as Shady Baby forever!
“I don’t know what was more entertaining, The Wiz or the baby tooth competition 😂,” the Bring It On alum captioned the cute video. She took 5-year-old Kaavia and her best friend Crosby and his mom to see The Wiz, and the tooth discussion happened in the car.
Bragging Rights
Kaavia — who looks adorable in braided hair with a gray floral dress and fuzzy white cardigan — turns to her friend at one point and brags, “I already lost a tooth.” Pretty impressive feat for someone who just turned 5 in November! Unfortunately for Kaavia, Crosby has already lost two.
“I already lost two tooths,” he replied. The look on Kaavia’s face is one of pure heartbreak, as she turns to him with her mouth open in shock.
“The betrayal!!” Union wrote over the clip. She edited a Spongebob Squarepants “A few moments later” into the video, followed by a shot of Kaavia sitting at a table in a restaurant. She smiles, showing off her newly lost tooth. Baby girl must have pulled out her own tooth in order to not be outdone by her friend, and the level of pettiness is honestly inspirational.
“I can’t believe it!” she says, as if she didn’t carefully orchestrate the whole thing.
Later, Kaavia says, “Tooth Fairy, I will see you tonight!”
Fans, predictably, loved this cute video. “’Tooth fairy, I will see you TANIGHT!’ I’m dead 😂😂😂😂😂” one person wrote.
“Kaav said the tooth fairy better be preparing that COIN. 💰 KthanksBye 😂,” another wrote. Someone else said, “She was determined to tie for teeth lost.😂😂😂”
Tooth Fairy CEO
Kaavia lost her first tooth last month, and her parents shared a cute video of her first visit from the Tooth Fairy. She wrote a letter to the tooth fairy, then placed her tooth in a little heart-shaped tooth holder. She showed off her missing bottom tooth, then listened to her mom read Tallulah the Tooth Fairy CEO by Tamara Pizzoli before going to bed.
In the morning, Kaavia wakes up to $20 (!!) and a note. “Dear Kaavia,” it reads. “This is your Tooth Fairy CEO Tallulah! I am so proud of you for taking care of your teeth! I know your parents + your village is proud of you, you have very healthy teeth and the most beautiful smile! We love you, Kaavia! $20.” (We would probably pull out our teeth too for that amount of cash!)
Kaavia James is never one to be outdone, and we love her for it.
