One minute, you’re up all night feeding your newborn baby, and the next, your little one is all grown up and flying the nest! (At least, that’s what it feels like.) Christina Ricci’s 2-year-old daughter Cleo just reached a big girl milestone, and we can’t believe it’s already time for this.
Big Day
The Yellowjackets star took to her Instagram story on Tuesday to brag about her toddler’s latest adventure: starting preschool! “Someone had their first day of preschool today,” Ricci wrote over a photo of her daughter. Cleo looks absolutely adorable with a purple bow holding back her long bangs, a colorful patchwork jacket, pink strawberry leggings, and white tennis shoes. She’s holding a cuddly gorilla stuffed animal and looks excited — and a little nervous.
In the second photo, Cleo is turned to reveal her purple-and-white checkered backpack that matches her bow. What a cutie! In this one, she looks a little worried about her first day. Her little eyebrows are scrunched together, and her mouth is pursed in the cutest, unsure expression. Cleo looks like she’s wondering how she got to be school-aged already (same, girl!).
The Wednesday star also shared a sneak peek into what her day at preschool looked like, and it’s so cute. Cleo’s jacket is off, revealing a pink strawberry t-shirt that perfectly matches her leggings — it’s called style! — as she sits in a little chair at a table with other kids. She holds a chicken nugget in one hand and is pointing at her gorilla stuffed animal with the other hand. Her stuffie is sitting in a tiny chair right next to Cleo at the table, and it’s so sweet. She got to keep her favorite toy with her all day?! Our hearts are officially melted.

While this milestone is exciting, in December, Cleo went through a much less fun development. “2 year old sleep regression destroying me,” Ricci wrote on her Instagram story. “Send help.” Oof! Those are the worst.
Ricci shares Cleo with husband Mark Hampton and son Freddie, 9, with ex James Heerdegen. Last month, she shared a photo of the siblings sitting at a plastic picnic table outside, coloring together. They are clearly already the best friends!
Here’s hoping Cleo had a great first day of preschool — and was tired enough to sleep all night!
