Kylie Jenner’s Daughter Stormi Interrupts Her During a New Interview & Her Mama Bear Side Comes Out

Kylie Jenner is a multi-millionaire, a savvy businesswoman, and one of the biggest reality TV stars ever, but at her heart, she’s a mama bear to her daughter Stormi, 6, and son Aire, 2. In a new interview, Jenner’s claws came out to protect her little girl — and whoa! We would not want to get on her bad side.

Protective Mom

The Kylie Cosmetics founder, who just launched her own line of canned vodka soda Sprinter and her first fragrance Cosmic, sat down with The New York Timesin a feature published Thursday. While they chatted about work and beauty and fashion, Stormi kept interrupting them (as any mom who works from home knows all too well). At one point, the reporter addressed her, and Stormi was “surprised” they knew her name. “Everybody knows your name,” Jenner told her daughter. “You’re a superstar.”

Despite how famous she is, Jenner is doing what she can to protect her daughter’s privacy. She told the reporter not to quote her daughter in the article at all. “We can’t do that to her,” she said. “She’s innocent. She comes in here, and she doesn’t know we’re doing an interview and then she has these quotes out in the open and she’s 6 years old. It’s my responsibility to protect her.”

Reality TV

We love that! Growing up on reality TV has clearly taught her some lessons on privacy and respect, and Jenner is now fiercely protective of her crew.  The KHY founder told the outlet that she wants her kids’ media exposure to be “under my control.”

“Since I was 9, people have been in my business,” she added.

In defense of her family, though, Jenner said, “To be fair, my family didn’t know how successful [Keeping Up With the Kardashians] would be. I think if they could have foresaw that, they would probably think twice about it — being on the show so young.”

Kris Jenner was also interviewed for the piece, and the family “mom-ager” told The New York Times that she has “no regrets.” “I believe that everything happens for a reason,” she said. Although, there is one thing she would change: “I wish I would have been as present as you,” Kris told her daughter.

Motherhood ‘Changed Everything’

Jenner, who shares her two kids with ex Travis Scott, opened up about how much motherhood changed her in an Oct. 2023 interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine. “My daughter has totally taught me a lot more about myself, and seeing myself in her has changed everything,” Jenner said. “I’ve had so much growth and am just embracing natural beauty.”

What a beautiful example for her daughter!
