In light of the ongoing controversy surrounding Kate Middleton‘s recovery from abdominal surgery, it’s unsurprising that the princess’ plans for the Easter holiday reportedly involve “much privacy.”
With Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis beginning their month-long school holiday break this Friday, Hello! Magazine speculates Kate and Prince William will do as they’ve done in years past: pack up the kiddos and head to Anmer Hall, their second home on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
While there, the Wales family “will be afforded much privacy, as locals there aren’t fazed by their royal neighbours.” Kate’s holiday activities with her three kids are expected to be Easter-themed, “including making Easter bonnets, painting eggs, baking, and holding an Easter egg hunt at home.” The outlet also reported that the princess will be able to enjoy time on the beach with her family and their dogs.
Before the Waleses head to Norfolk, it’s possible that Kate could return to the public eye at the royal family‘s Easter church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. While Kensington Palace originally announced in January that the princess “is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,” the royal family’s current “KateGate” PR disaster has led to much confusion concerning Kate’s well-being and comeback timeline.
An article published earlier this month by the UK’s Sunday Times claims the palace was not referencing the Easter holiday weekend in their statement, but the end of the kids’ school break. George, Charlotte, and Louis are scheduled to return to Lambrook School on April 17.
However, just days ago The Daily Beast claimed friends of Kate and King Charles say she will make a “big bang” return on Easter Sunday. One insider told the outlet, “She is doing well. Everything is on track. Easter will be the big bang moment.”
Another source dubbed a possible Easter return “the natural choice” for Kate’s public resurrection, and a friend of the king said Charles “of course” would like to have Kate attend the family’s annual service, but it would ultimately be up to her to determine if she feels well enough to do so. Kensington Palace notably declined to comment on whether or not the princess will be in attendance.
Given the ongoing mystery surrounding the Princess of Wales, it would not be surprising if she opted to enjoy a quiet holiday with her children — though until the world gets some believable clarification on Kate’s “disappearance,” it’s unlikely that the princess will be able to fully relax and enjoy quality time with her kids.
