Keke Palmer’s Baby Leo Reaches Heart-Melting New Milestone: ‘I’m Not Crying You Are’

Babies are pros at catching their parents off guard. Like taking their first step at a random moment or having a blowout diaper right after you leave your house. Keke Palmer’s 1-year-old son Leodis “Leo” Andrellton just surprised in a heart-melting milestone moment, and it’ll make you misty-eyed.

“I’m not crying YOU ARE 🥹🫶🏾🙏🏾,” the Nope actress wrote on Instagram today. She posted a selfie video with her and Leo, showing off her gory makeup on set of The Pickup.  Leo leans his head into his mama’s neck, prompting her to ask, “Why do you always play shy brother? You is not shy, brother!”

She then asks her baby if she “looks good with the blood on her face?” Leo is quiet for a moment, then leans down and says, “Mama!” clear as day. Palmer is clearly shocked. She gasps and her jaw drops at this adorable word, and she looks around to see if anyone else heard it. Hearing your baby say “mama” — and getting it on camera! — is an unforgettable moment for a mom.

Someone asked if this was Leo’s first time saying “mama” in the comments, and the “Assets” star responded in the comments, “saying it so clear yes!” Aww! Love that for her.

“He def shy , he said lemme get out this camera and say it 😂,” one person said. Another wrote, “He called you Mommy while you was giving Zombie!!!! REAL LOVE!!!”

Palmer, who shares Leo with estranged ex Darius Jackson, recently opened up about how independent her baby boy is. “My son is very independent and I found out that I’m actually quite clingy and needy,” The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy actress told Us Weekly this week. “He doesn’t really care to be bothered with me too much. He does when he wants to, and he’ll be sitting there patiently waiting for the kisses to come in. But when he’s done with me, he’s done with me, and he really likes to do his own thing.”

She continued, “I love that my son is independent because I like that I know that he’s going to always be good. He’s kind of like, ‘Mom, I got my own life going on.’ But also it’s like, ‘Baby, you’re only 1 year old. What kind of life could you have?’ And he’s like, ‘I’m watching Ms. Rachel. I’m playing with my trucks.’”

Palmer’s definitely got her hands full, but the sweet moments make it all worth it!
