Bindi Irwin’s Daughter Grace Chats With a Kangaroo Friend in an Unbelievably Cute Picture

Long talks with a friend are a balm to the soul — and if your friend is a kangaroo, it’s even better! (Or so we can imagine.) Bindi Irwin just shared the cutest new photo of her 3-year-old daughter Grace Warrior hanging out with her marsupial bestie, and we are officially jealous of a toddler.

Bindi and her mom Terri Irwin shared a joint post of Grace at the Australia Zoo. She’s dressed casually in a gray t-shirt, white pants, and a light blue bucket hat on her head as she sits on the ground. Grace is wearing yellow Crocs with a picture of Bluey and Bingo from Bluey on them (so cute!!), as she casually rests her hands on her knee and gazes at a kangaroo. The animal is lying down on its side, curled around Grace and looking at the camera.

The moment seems so surreal — I can’t even imagine just casually chatting with a kangaroo! Terri captioned the photo, “Conversations with a friend.❤️” What a life!

“Grace is just living the best life ❤️” one person commented. Another said, “What a beautiful, touching photo.❤️”

Others tried to guess what the toddler and kangaroo might chat about. “’So, have you heard the latest gossip around the lion enclosure?’ ❤” someone else said.

The Australia Zoo CEO, who shares Grace with husband Chandler Powell, dished about playdates at the Australia Zoo in a previous interview with SheKnows. “Playdates for our family are a lot of fun. Because we live in Australia Zoo, I feel like every day turns into a bit of a playdate for our family,” she told us with a laugh. “We have so many guests that visit Australia Zoo … so we just all end up hanging out with other parents and kids and it’s really, really fun.”

“Our playdates are a little not-usual … we end up having playdates in the middle of Western Queensland surrounded by emus, so it’s a lot of fun. I guess that’s the Irwins for you,” she added.

Bindi also shared about her “wild” childhood. “I was always running around in the creek or running around with animals or climbing a tree,” she recalled. “Honestly, looking back, I now really revel in the fact that I was so lucky to be able to have that childhood. I feel very, very blessed that I got that time with my family to run around as a wild child. And it was so much fun!”

Now it seems like she has passed on that tradition to Grace, and it’s beyond cute.
