Flying from Los Angeles to Thailand (about a 19-hour flight!) is taxing for anybody. Especially for a kid! My kids get thrown off on Daylight Saving Time, so I can only imagine what this type of jet lag would do. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend recently brought their four young children to Thailand and revealed the one child who is actually “delirious” from the trip.
“Family of 6 made it to thailand to visit yai!” the Chrissy and Dave Dine Out star wrote on Instagram on Sunday. She shared several pictures, including one of her holding 9-month-old Wren who looks so sleepy. She also shared a video of 14-month-old Esti wandering through a play area with hanging foam bats and blocks to get through. Wren looked like the happiest baby ever banging on a wooden toy in one picture and chewing on his fingers in another.
She also shared a video of her kids on a little mall ride, and pictures of 5-year-old Miles on his tablet in the plane and 7-year-old Luna smiling next to her mom on the plane. While the luxury of first-class travel and accommodations has probably made the trip easier, traveling with kids is hard no matter what. Good on them for being brave enough to do it!
In her caption, the Cravings author explained more about the trip and which kid was having the hardest time. “Pearl the basset hound painting coming along swimmingly, babies did such a good job, miles is basically delirious and luna toons is thriving,” Teigen wrote. Aww, poor guy! As a mom of a 5-year-old boy myself, this completely checks out. Hopefully he’ll adjust soon!
The family took their first trip as a family of 5 when Esti was a baby in April 2023. “First trip with 3, heart racing with airplane apology syndrome,” she wrote on Twitter, adding, “I was the only one to cry! scary turbulence makes my heart stop 😭.”
A month after Wren was born, Teigen and Legend took all four kids on a tropical getaway. “Our first vacation as a family of six. So far, so great!” Legend wrote on Instagram in August 2023. He included several pictures of the family swimming and hanging out in the oasis.
But this trip to Thailand has been a long time in the making. Back in 2017, Teigen told SheKnowsthat she couldn’t wait to take daughter Luna (and any future kids) to this country where her mother is from.
“I feel like there are a lot of places we want to go now that we’re just waiting for her to get a little bit older for,” she told us. “For instance, we want to go to Kenya on a safari [or] South Africa once she learns all her animals. I want to take her to Thailand because obviously my mother’s from Thailand and I want her to visit her roots.”
