5-year-olds hit different, don’t they? Suddenly, your sweet toddler is an opinionated, bossy preschooler — with barbs that will cut the toughest-skinned parent. Andy Cohen’s 5-year-old son Ben just sassily told his dad he was “a million percent not right” during a recent argument, and the video is so funny.
The Watch What Happens Live! host posted a video of a conversation he had with Ben on his Instagram story today. “Did I do a good job making the paper airplane?” Cohen asks his son, while holding up a paper airplane.
“Of course,” Ben responds off camera.
“I did?” Cohen asks. “I think this glitter tape’s going to weigh it down though.”
“You are a million percent not right,” Ben declares in response, and I just burst out laughing. The sass on this kid!
“Really?” Cohen asks, and Ben affirms.
“A million percent?” Cohen asks. “I really … I don’t think this glitter tape is going to be good for the aviation,” he tries again, showing Ben a strip of heavy-looking glitter tape.
“What aviation?” Ben asks.
Cohen clearly wasn’t prepared for a follow up question, as he responds with a question. “Aviation is …keeping the plane in the sky?” he says, a little unsure. “Or making things that fly.” Yeah, that sounds good!
“Yeah, but yeah, but then it’ll open,” Ben explains, showing how the tape is the only thing keeping the airplane together.
“So that makes it a little lighter,” Ben adds, because the rules of physics don’t really apply when you’re 5 (and when your logic is this good!).
Unfortunately, when they tried to fly the plane, it almost immediately crashed. Cohen made a wincing face, and said, “OK. Well … that was good.” Positive thinking never hurt anyone!
The Bravo TV host, who is also dad to daughter Lucy, 23 months, often posts funny moments from his life as a dad. He was on spring break with his kids last week, and he shared a sweet moment captured in the car.
“Want me to teach you how to make good owl sounds?” Ben asks his dad from the backseat. He then proceeds to demonstrate with a cool “oooh, ooooh” sound. Cohen, being the up-for-anything dad he is, tries to emulate the sound. “Whooooo,” he says.
Ben’s critique was (unsurprisingly) brutal. “That’s … kind of good,” Ben says, then immediately shows off his own owl sounds skills once again to show his dad how he’s done.
Kids will always keep you on your toes, that’s for sure!
