Zoe Saldaña Reveals the Not-So-Subtle Code Phrase for ‘Sexy Time’ That She & Her Husband Use Around Their Kids

Zoe Saldaña and her husband Marco Perego-Saldaña are not letting their sons get in the way of their sex life. In fact, the two have a code phrase they use when the boys are around. If the two are wanting some “sexy time,” as Saldaña says, they switch to their secret language.

“We ‘play LEGOsnaked,'” Perego said when he and his wife appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show.

It’s not the most subtle of ways to say they’re in the mood. Dropping the word “naked” in there is definitely a giveaway. Their older sons, 9-year-old twins Cy and Bowie, have reportedly caught on.

“They were like, ‘Are you guys kissing? Are you guys gonna go play naked with your Legos?'” Saldaña said. “And we’re like, ‘No, we’re not going to do that.'”

As for “playing LEGOs,” well, that does sound like a thing parents would say. Apparently their 7-year-old son Zen has yet to catch onto the fact that playing with building blocks sans clothes is questionable. But the power couple might want to brainstorm something a little more inconspicuous if they want to keep their love life under the table. (Or beneath the sheets?)

Or! Maybe they’re trying to raise their boys to be incredibly sex-positive. If so, all the power — and the LEGOs — to ya!

Lots of celebrities have opened up about how they talk to their kids about “playing LEGOs naked.”

For instance, Dax Shepard once said on an episode of his podcast, Armchair Expert, that he does not want his daughters to have sex “so that they can get approval from somebody.”

He and wife Kristen Bell look for age-appropriate ways to talk about consent and sex with their daughters Lincoln, 11 and Delta, 9. “‘You’re in charge of this and you will decide to put this in your vagina,'” he tells them. “‘Not the man puts his penis in your vagina. You are in the driver’s seat.'”

Whether it comes to what happens to their body or the secret code phrases they use, people have their own autonomy, and — despite what the pearl-clutching naysayers might think — that’s an important lesson for kids to learn at a young age.
