Tori Spelling Is the Latest Celeb Parent To Talk About Pooping With a Kid-Audience

Everyone poops, but when you’re a mom, going number 2 doesn’t always happen alone. Kids barge in and bother you without “giving a shit” about privacy — and we pretty much just get used to it. (Although, I still prefer to just lock the door!) Many celebrities have opened up about getting no privacy around their kids recently, and Tori Spelling is the latest to speak out. Except, she actually chooses to poop with her kids in the room.

On Monday’s episode of her misSPELLING podcast, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star revealed the stinky ritual she follows with her kids. Spelling said she hasn’t “pooped [or] peed alone in 18 years,” per PEOPLE. “First it was [with] Dean, then it was the kids,” she explained, referring to her estranged husband Dean McDermott, with whom Spelling filed for divorce from last month. They share kids Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, 7.

“Beau still stands there and stares and talks to me while I’m pooping,” Spelling continued, adding, “I think I function better with people.”

“Is that co-dependent?” she asked herself answering, “Yes. Cool.”

In February, Dax Shepard and Bradley Cooper bonded over their bathroom habits with their kids on the Armchair Expertspodcast. “The girls start coming in and out,” Shepard said about his daughters Lincoln, 10, and Delta, 9, who he shares with wife Kristen Bell. “They sit and talk to me, like a foot away from me, and it’s terrible in there.”

“Do you find that your daughter doesn’t care at all?” he asked Cooper about him going to the bathroom with his 6-year-old daughter Lea, who he shares with ex Irina Shayk.

“Yeah, no, no. We talk where I’m on the toilet, she’s in the bathtub; that’s sort of the go-to,” Cooper answered. To each their own!

It’s not all stinky times with Spelling and her son Beau. He turned 7 last month, and Spelling shared a heartwarming video montage of her youngest child. “Beau is my greatest teacher on this journey,” she wrote on Instagram. “Everyday I am surprised and impressed … things that those that understand me know are hard to do. He makes me laugh and learn and love hard thru it all.”

“He is one of the best parts of me. And, one of the greatest loves of my life,” she added.
