It’s been almost two years since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married, officially joining their families together like a modern-day Brady Bunch. And now that it’s had time to settle in for their respective kids (almost all of whom are teens), how do the kids really feel about their new stepfamilies? An insider dished on their relationships with each other in a new article, and we aren’t surprised at all.
“Their kids love being a blended family and mesh well together,” a source told Entertainment Tonightabout Affleck’s kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, who he shares with ex Jennifer Garner, and J. Lo’s 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, who she shares with ex Marc Anthony.
The insider added, “They’re all kind and get along well.”
This checks out, especially because the kids (and their grown-ups!) are often seen supporting each other and hanging out. It also confirms what previous sources have said, like the insider who told Us Weeklyin January that the “Can’t Get Enough” singer and Garner “communicate rather frequently when it comes to their kids, scheduling plans, etc.”
This insider added, “They know the ones who benefit the most are the children and that’s all they care about. They have a mutual respect for each other as parents and know how well all their kids get along. They want to foster and nurture those relationships and will do whatever it takes to show their support.” The efforts of these dedicated parents have apparently paid off!
Entertainment Tonight’s source also told them how happy the newlyweds are. “Jen and Ben are doing well and are very happy together. Their kids bring them even closer together and keep them humble. Jen and Ben are supportive of one another and just want the best for their relationship and family.”
And if another source is to be believed, “the best” might just be another baby! An insider told Life & Stylelast month that Jennifer has been talking “nonstop” about having a baby via surrogate, and she “finally got [Affleck] to cave in.”
“She nagged him until he went along with it,” the source dished. “Ben was completely happy with the blended family they already have — but he loves kids, that’s why he agreed to having another. At the end of the day, he wants Jennifer to be happy.”
Only time will tell! But if they do decide to have a baby together, you can bet the little one will be welcomed to the fold immediately by all its supportive older siblings!
These blended celebrity families make it look easy!
