Brooke Shields is the proud mom of a 21-year-old! The Pretty Baby star celebrated her eldest daughter Rowan’s milestone birthday on Wednesday, sharing a picture that proves these two could have been twins.
“Happy 21st birthday to you, Rowan! 🎉🥂” Shields, who shares Rowan and daughter Grier, 18, with husband Chris Henchy, captioned the post. “You continue to inspire me everyday, I’m so so proud of you. Love you, bug ❤️🐞”
In the first photo, Brooks and Rowan smile with their faces pressed up against each other. Even though Shields is wearing sunglasses, you can see how much these two look alike — from their identical smiles to their stunning red hair.
Rowan poses on the beach with a flower tucked behind her ear in another picture, looking gorgeous. There are also several throwback pictures, including one of a baby Rowan about to take a bath and one of a toddler Rowan holding a tennis racket bag. The last photo is a picture of Rowan and Shields sleeping together, looking like twins on their sides with identical smiles.
“I saw this 21 year old baby last night at dinner with your hubby!” comedian Chelsea Handler commented on the cute post.
“What a beautiful photo of you and your daughter! She is so pretty just like her Mom! You’re a great Mom Brooke!” someone else wrote.
Earlier this month, Rowan walked the red carpet with her mom at a screening of Mother of the Bride. They wore matching red gowns and showed off their identical ladybug tattoos (she also has matching tattoos with her daughter Grier). The Blue Lagoon star shared pictures of her tattoos with both daughters on Sunday, writing, “Matching tattoos with both of my girls. There’s nothing like being a mama. 🐞👠 #mothersday.”
Grier turned 18 last week, and Shields celebrated her with a mix of old and new photos as well. “My baby girl is 18 💛,” she captioned the post on Instagram. “I love being your mom and seeing the wonderful woman you’re growing into.. Happy golden birthday, Grier! I love you! ✨🎉”
It’s clear how close Shields is with her daughters, which is why she feels like “a mess” thinking about Grier going to college in the fall. “I know that they’re going to come back,” Shields told Entertainment Tonightrecently about her daughters. “I mean, my older daughter comes back often and, you know, they’ll be my babies forever. If you’ve done it right, though, you want them to feel that freedom to start their lives, you know?”
