There’s something about parenthood that makes the worry switch flip on. (And, no, it doesn’t seem to ever turn off after that.) But there’s one thing Jessica Bieldoesn’t stress about as a mom to sons Silas, 9, and Phineas, 3, and it’s so relatable.
For PEOPLE’s Kids Interview, a 5-year-old boy named Kai asked the 7th Heaven alum what “the best thing about being a boy mom” to her sons with husband Justin Timberlake is.
After gushing over how “adorable” Kai is, Biel answered: “The best thing about being a boy mom is playing.” She explained, “I think playing with my sons is the most fun. Wrestling, playing LEGO, building LEGO, swimming, playing sports, reading together. I love spending time with them, and I love getting down and dirty with them on the floor and just having fun.”
And she isn’t worried at all about things getting messy. “Not worrying about getting dirty or anything like that,” she added. “I love that about being a boy mom.”
In an interview on The Drew Barrymore Showin 2022, the Cruel Summer executive producer dished on how she stays present with her kids. “One of the best pieces of parenting advice I’ve ever got… You cannot do both at the same time. When you’re wrestling on the floor, you’re wrestling on the floor. Don’t answer the phone. Don’t look at a work thing. Don’t text somebody. Don’t do any of it. You are wrestling on the floor.”
“That’s what we do in my household. A lot of wrestling,” she added.
But it’s not all roughhousing. In an appearance on Live With Kelly & Mark, the A Kids Book About Periodsauthor shared that her sons are also interested in the entertainment industry. “They are definitely showing us that they have that kind of interest in singing, acting, performing,” she said. “My older one is very funny, loves the jokes, kind of hammy. Into being a DJ. My little one is like Mick Jagger. He’s like, microphone, and dancing and ‘give me the spotlight.’ It’s crazy how they are who they are.”
