Wild things happen when you live at the Australia Zoo (it’s literally part of the territory). But even though magical creatures surround her, Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell’s daughter Grace Warrior is still amazed by them. The Australia Zoo CEO shared a new family selfie with a unique photo-bomber, and her 3-year-old daughter couldn’t look more thrilled by the fun moment.
“Good morning from @australiazoo 💛” Bindi captioned the cute photo on Instagram. Her mom Terri Irwin commented, “So much happiness!”
In the photo, Powell smiles next to Bindi, who is holding their daughter. All three are wearing khaki made famous by Bindi’s dad, the late Steve Irwin, as they pose for the selfie outside. Grace holds a little green horse apple in her hand, as she smiles with both her top and bottom teeth showing. Her eyes are focused on the top right of the photo, where a rhinoceros has wandered into the frame beyond a hedge to sneak into their photo. It’s pure happiness!
In an interview with SheKnowsearlier this month, Bindi shared that Grace is “definitely the ruler of our universe.” Bindi continued, “She is so wonderful because she’s such a kind and beautiful soul, while also having so much strength within her. She runs the zoo.”
This kind, adventurous spirit was highlighted recently when Grace and her mom ran into a snake outside — and Grace named him Lionel.
“Meet ‘Lionel’!” Bindi captioned a cute video. “We went spotlighting for bugs this evening (Grace’s new favourite activity) and came across this sweet carpet python on the path.” She explained that Powell caught the snake and released him in a bushland later. Bindi added, “It’s always nice to teach Grace snake safety and encourage her love for these sweethearts at a safe distance.”
Growing up surrounded by wild animals sounds amazing, and Grace is jumping into the experience with her whole heart.
