Drew Scott Highlighted the ‘Nightmare’ of Sleep Training With Son Parker & It Truly Is Like a Horror Movie

Apparently, Drew Scott is preparing for having a newborn baby in the house again by staying up all night with his 2-year-old son Parker. The HGTV star, who shares Parker and a baby-on-the-way with wife Linda Phan, shared the “nightmare” of sleep training in a relatable new video. (If it feels like you’re living in a horror movie, it’s because you are!)

“What nightmares are made of… #ParentingBeLike#SleepTraining,” the Property Brothers host captioned a video on Instagram today. Text over the video read: “POV: You put your toddler to bed.” Brace yourself parents: this video might be triggering to anyone with nocturnal children at home!

The video, edited to with a horror film soundtrack, begins at 7:30 p.m., when Scott lies down in bed after putting Parker (played by Scott in red plaid pajamas) in bed. At 7:31 p.m., Parker is suddenly in his dad’s room, right up by his face. “Hi!” Scott-as-Parker says.

“What are you doing?” he asks his son, who just stares at him before replying, “Daddy.” It really do be like that sometimes!

Fast-forward to 10:25 p.m., and Scott is finally able to lay his head down again. (Not pictured: three hours of reading books, drinking water, going potty, drinking more water, and singing 137 songs, probably.) Parker is immediately up, banging things around in the room so loud it sounds like an intruder has entered. At 12:05 a.m., he’s kicking his feet in bed, throwing his stuffed animals all over the floor.

The Celebrity IOU host valiantly ignores it all, trying to sleep through the chaos. Until Parker shows up at his door, turning the locked handle and banging on the wooden frame to try to get inside. Scott covers his ears as he tries to drown out the noise — and is your heart racing yet? Because this is absolutely terrifying!

The comments were no less scary. One person warned, “It’s only the beginning, my friend!! Some nights it’s mutually terrifying…I wake up and scream because I’m so startled, then I scare them when I scream. They’ve leaned to brace themselves. 🤣”

Another person said, “😂🤣😂🤣… My daughter did more of that. She’d crawl quietly on the floor of our bedroom. Scared the crap out of us the first time when we heard and saw something crawling around the floor. 🤣”

Others were more encouraging…kind of. Like this person who commented: “Don’t worry, you’ll soon be up all night with the new one so he won’t have to wake you up!❤️” Oh, boy!

Scott often shares hilarious parenting anecdotes with his followers, like when he shared funny “cleaning tips” that included: “You don’t,” “You can’t,” “You can try,” and “Good luck.”

In reality, he’s just doing his best like we all are. Scott told PEOPLE earlier this month that him and have “been in planning mode” preparing for the new baby. He went on, “The funny thing is Parker, they’ll be about two years apart, so Parker will be 2, but I’m already forgetting. … I had little tricks and little techniques and things for changing diapers efficiently and for feeding. I’m forgetting all of it.”

“So I think it’s going to be like a crash course again, as soon as I get into it, to figure it out,” he added. “But the main thing is Linda’s such a rockstar mom and she pours so much love into Parker and the family, and I try to do the same.”
