The Union-Wade family is already making the most of summer! Kaavia James posted the cutest video on her Instagram (read: The 5-year-old’s parents posted the cutest video on her Instagram) of her having the best pool day with mom Gabrielle Union and dad Dwyane Wade.
In the video, Kaavia and Wade jump in the pool (after a moment of hesitation from the internet’s favorite 5-year-old), and Union lounges by the edge, bumping a volleyball when it comes her way. There are also the cutest clips of Kaavia jumping onto the edge of a donut float — seemingly trying to use it as a basketball hoop for the ball in her hand.
“Making waves with my faves 🌊,” Kaavia captioned her post.
Once the swimming was done (at least momentarily), Kaavia laid out on the grass, giving the camera some smiles before flashing her signature “Shady Baby” look.
Followers were shocked by how quickly she is growing up and how much she looks like her dad — “That man’s genes don’t play fair 😂” — but a main topic of conversation was her hair. Because Kaavia James has gorgeous curls. And no, I have no problem saying I’m jealous of a 5-year-old.
“Look at all that beautiful hair!” one follower said, and it just kept going:
“Kaav’s hair is living the life😍👑🥰” “All that curly, full and healthy hair 😍🥰🥰” “Kaav & her hair😍😍😍”
And don’t worry, even if Kaavia doesn’t get to read the comments, we know she knows just how good she looks. In a video last fall, she, her mom, and her nanny sang Chalie Boy’s “I Look Good.” And Kaavia gave it her all when it came time to sing “I look fly / I look good.”
We have to imagine the sassy sweetheart uses some of the haircare products from her parents’ company, Proudly, which makes award-winning products formulated for babies of color. The power couple launched Proudly almost a year ago, first focusing on the skincare line.
“From the moment our daughter Kaavia entered this world, we knew we’d teach her to embrace her skin—its beauty, power, wisdom, and magic,” they said. “And that means caring for it with love.”
They’ve since dropped a haircare line designed for kids with waves, curls, or coils, and the products constantly sell out. Because yes, they’re that good. And we’re sure they only enhance the natural perfection of Kaavia’s beautiful locks.
