Normally it’s Olivia Wilde‘s love life that’s making headlines, but this time it’s all about her 7-year-old daughter Daisy. Wilde shared a photo on her Instagram Story of a handwritten note from the little girl who she shares with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis along with 10-year-old son Otis.
“I have a crush on nobody I don’t need a boy,” the paper says. That’s right, Daisy! You don’t need a boy (or girl or nonbinary person), and you shouldn’t let society make you think otherwise. Honestly, we’re so impressed that — at such a young age — she’s so confident in a concept that some adults still grapple with. And now we want more. Daisy, can you write a whole essay on the topic? Give a TED Talk? Asking for a friend.
“That’s my girl,” Wilde wrote on top of the photo with a punching fist emoji.

While Wilde is definitely a proud mama, her kids apparently take issue with her behavior. In a funny interview with People, the Don’t Worry Darling star said she is currently working on a film that they can see, but that’s not enough for them.
“[They say], ‘Mom this is irresponsible!’ … [They] are begging me to make something that’s not rated R,” Wilde said. Ha! Just look at how the tables have turned. We doubt it will be long before the famed director is going after her tween for his “irresponsible” behavior.
Even if they have their qualms, Wilde has only beautiful things to say about her kiddos. “They’re so great,” she gushed earlier in the year. “They’re huge and they’re so healthy and happy.”
“I already feel like they’re giant teenagers, but we’re having a lot of fun,” she continued. “They’re my best friends.” And pretty cool ones at that!
“They’re so active. They’re musicians and they’re athletes and they’re just cool,” she said. And we’re sure Daisy’s latest note only adds to that!
