Brad Pitt’s Reported Desire for ‘Another Chance at Fatherhood’ Has Nothing To Do with Building Bridges

To say that Brad Pitt‘s family life is in utter turmoil would be an understatement. The actor’s daughter Shiloh filed legal documents to change her name (dropping “Pitt”) on her 18th birthday last month, and she’s not the only one of his six kids to make that kind of move — legally or informally. He also seemingly snubbed his oldest daughter, Zahara, in a recent statement that enraged fans.

And that’s just the half of it.

So we were stunned to see that the Bullet Train actor wants another chance at being a dad. We thought this meant he wanted to make amends with his six kids — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne — who he allegedly abused, per ex-wife Angelina Jolie‘s divorce filings in 2016.

But no, this is not about building bridges with the Jolie[-Pitt] family. This is about starting another one.

According to a report from In Touch Weekly, the 60-year-old wants to be a dad again. This time, with girlfriend Ines de Ramon who an insider called “a breath of fresh air” who has “no drama.” (Likely an intentional comparison to Jolie, with whom Pitt is still battling in court.)

“Brad wants another chance at fatherhood,” a source told the outlet. “He’s a different person than the first time around.”

The source went on to allege that Pitt is ready to get married and “doesn’t want to waste time.” They even said the Ocean’s 11 star’s friend George Clooney offered his Lake Como home for a wedding should Pitt pop the question.

“There’s a bit of urgency with this,” the source said, “because Brad is very eager to have a child with Ines and she wants a proper commitment first. As soon as they tie the knot, the first priority will be having a baby.”

Per this insider, Pitt is trying to reconnect with his kids, but their actions suggest otherwise. “He’s tried to rebuild relationships with all his children, and will continue to try,” they continued. “He hopes things will change over time when the kids are not so heavily influenced by Angelina.”

The comments are in line with what Jolie’s former security guard might say if he’s called to testify in Jolie and Pitt’s case over their French winery.

“He also told me that if asked, he would testify about statements he overheard that Ms. Jolie made to the children, encouraging them to avoid spending time with Mr. Pitt during custody visits,” Tony Webb — Pitt’s current security guard and Jolie’s former security guard said of another security guard in a 12-page statement for the courts.
