Grace Irwin may have an American dad, but when she talks, she’s all Australian! Bindi Irwin shared an adorable new video of her 3-year-old daughter, who she shares with husband Chandler Powell, and her Aussie accent is unbelievably cute.
“Grace teaching us all the rules of the #AustraliaZoo lemur island. Her kind heart lights up the world. 💛,” the Australia Zoo CEO captioned a new video on Tuesday. In the clip, Grace is “reading” a sign at the zoo at the entrance of Bindi’s Island. She looks so grown up in a pink shirt and matching pink vest and brown pants. Her curly brown hair is half up, away from her eyes, as she points to the sign.
“Please go on the left side of the bridge,” she says, pointing to an arrow that shows which side. “Shut the door. Help the children,” she continues, tapping the corresponding sign pictures.
She even says the classic Australian “no” which, to our American ears, sounds more like “naur.”
“No foods and snacks and drinks to go on the island,” Grace says. She adds, “Please don’t, don’t touch the lemurs. They don’t like it.” What an adorable little rule-keeper! You can tell she is just as committed to protecting the animals and keeping the zoo safe as the rest of her famous family!
“Her sweet little voice makes you just melt!! 😍” one person commented. Someone else wrote, “Her little Aussie accent is adorable 😭💞”
“She is so grown up now! She knows the rules so well, seems like she can actually read them!👏👏👏👏👍” another person wrote.
Earlier this week, Bindi shared a heartwarming photo of her and Grace hanging out on a tree. Bindi hugs her daughter as they twin in matching khaki, and Grace looks up at her mom and smiles. “Spot the friend… 🦏 #AustraliaZoo” Bindi captioned the photo, referencing the photo-bombing rhino in the background.
“Her thing is just animals,” Bindi told SheKnowsin May. “She likes to become an expert on animals. So her new thing is facts. So, she’ll say something like, ‘Koalas eat eucalyptus. That’s a fact.’ And it’s so cute, ‘cause it’s like, you know what? You can’t teach that. That is just who she is.”
“She is definitely the ruler of our universe,” Bindi added. “She is so wonderful because she’s such a kind and beautiful soul, while also having so much strength within her. She runs the zoo.”
