Cindy Crawford‘s son Presley is celebrating a milestone birthday and, as a doting mother, Crawford had no choice but to post a sweet message alongside some rare photos of the newly-minted 25-year-old. Crawford shares Presley and 22-year-old daughter Kaia with husband Rande Gerber, and the first photo of Presley makes it extra clear which parent he takes after.
In the moody close-up, Presley looks to the side, and his face is cast in red lights and shadows. Though it might seem murky, it’s plain to see that he could be his mom’s twin. They have the same stunning bone structure, with high cheeks and long jawlines. (So is it really any wonder they’re both models?)
“Wow — how are you 25?” Crawford started her caption. “I’m so proud of you — how you show up for your family and treat your friends.”
The second photo is a throwback circa Presley’s elementary school days. He has long blond hair and is wearing black slacks, a black button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a bright red tie, and black eyeliner. It’s giving Billie Joe Armstrong.
“Know that Dad and I are always here — cheering you on from the sidelines,” Crawford continued. “We have loved you since the day I found out I was pregnant and will never stop! 💙🩵”
Presley was quick to jump in the comments. “I love you so much mom. ❤️,” he said, and followers agreed that it doesn’t get much better than that sweet response. “Every mom’s best message ever. 😍,” one person said. Because all a mom ever wants is an “I love you” every now and then. (Well … that and a callback, and a back massage, and for someone else to take care of her never-ending to-do list … but a heart emoji goes a long way!)
In a 2015 essay for TIME, Crawford wrote about how kids are “born open.”
“In my kids, I see acceptance. Kids are not born seeing otherness,” she said. ” … The rest gets trained into us by watching the news, our own parents, and how people react. And all of that is rooted in insecurity. As a parent, I try to lead by example and instill in my children self-confidence while showing my own vulnerability.” And by Crawford being vulnerable in her caption, Presley was able to do the same in his comment.
