Joseph Gordon-Levitt Gave an Ultra-Rare Glimpse Into How Fatherhood Has Turned Him Into a ‘Softie’

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was our go-to single heartthrob for so long, and then he became the sweetest family man. While he remains quite private about himself and his wife Tasha McCauley’s family life, he did give some ultra-rare details about how fatherhood has changed him, and it’s oh-so-sweet!

While doing press for his new Netflix movie, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, he spent time with the United Services Organizations (USO); and talked to People all about it.

“One of the soldiers asked, ‘What do you do to keep in touch with your family when you’re away like when we’re away from ours?’ And, man, that really got to me,” Gordon-Levitt said. “There I was in tears in front of all these guys, just a big softie. I have a new idea of what that is in the context of being a dad.”

Isn’t that so sweet? We love dads who are self-proclaimed “softies,” it just warms our hearts.

Along with that, he gave rare details about the “last game” he played before the interview, saying, “I played catch with a baseball and glove with my son this morning. I know that sounds like Norman Rockwell Americana, but I remember doing it with my dad, which is so sweet.”

For those who don’t know, back in Dec 2014, the 10 Things I Hate About You star married McCauley, the founder and CEO of technology company Fellow Robots. They were linked a year prior, and have continued to be quite private over the years.

The pair share two sons together, born in Aug 2015 and June 2017. Along with being private about their relationship, they’re also private about their children’s identities.
