There’s being a parent, and then there’s being millennial parents. Only millennials get it, and Shenae Grimes-Beech nailed it perfectly in a dance video alongside her husband Josh Beech.
On Aug 8, the 90210 alum shared a hilarious video of her and her husband dancing to a song that describes parenting as a millennial. She shared the TikTok video to her Instagram with the caption reading, “This millennial parent anthem is a banger 💥 #couplecomedy #momlife #parenthood #millennials;” and on the video itself, the text reads, “How has your life changed since having kids?”
In the video, we see the lovebirds dancing to the song “I Used To” by Lekota, specifically dancing to the lines: “I used to do drugs, now I don’t do anything/ I used to have fun, now I don’t do anything/ I used to go out but I don’t go anywhere.”
Not only do we love that the pair seem like they’re having so much fun together in the video, but we love their honesty. Everything changes when you become a parent, but that doesn’t mean it’s a sad thing; it just changes and this video shows that perfectly!
For those who don’t know, Shenae and Josh started dating back in 2012. They got engaged by the end of that year and married in 2013.
Since then, they’ve welcomed two children: a daughter named Bowie, born in Sept 2018, and a son named Kingsley Taylor, born in Aug 2021.
In a previous Instagram post, Shenae talked about the joys and trials of motherhood while reflecting on her 33rd birthday.
“If I’m honest, today was an overstimulated, overtired travel sh!tshow so the glamour of this photo doesn’t represent the reality of most of the day BUT it absolutely does represent how I’m finally start to see and embrace myself in the midst of all the butt-wiping and refereeing sibling meltdowns,” she wrote. “Although it doesn’t feel like it often, there is space for me. In my days, in my home, at the table, in this wild world. And when it seems like there just simply isn’t, I’m determined to unapologetically make the space. Because that’s who I am. I’m starting to remember that these days.”
