As one of the most famous supermodels from the ‘90s, Naomi Campbell is used to life in the public eye. Maybe that’s why she’s extra cautious about keeping her two kids out of it. Although she is notoriously private about her daughter, born via surrogate in May 2021, and her son, born via surrogate in June 2023, the 54-year-old just gave a rare glimpse into what life’s like as a mom of two — and it’s so heartwarming.
In a cover interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Campbell called motherhood “the biggest joy.” She explained, “The biggest blessing is to have these two innocent, beautiful souls and for me to be able to be their mother. I learn a lot each day. They’re good kids.”
Aww! It sounds like she is absolutely thriving in motherhood, and our hearts are officially melted. The activist also opened up about balancing traveling for work with motherhood. “I definitely don’t take them from New York to London for a two-day shoot. That’s too much,” she said, “but my kids love to travel.” She added with a laugh, “They must have known!”
In a June interview with The Standard, the London native revealed that she has been thinking about making London her home base. “I love London and I want my kids educated here,” she said. “I loved going to school in London, and I’d like my kids to follow in my footsteps. I haven’t decided where we are going to set up shop, but I hope it’s here. I like the English education system, absolutely. I don’t like the American version of the English education system.”
She also reflected on parenting in the interview. “Motherhood is so much fun. You just don’t know what’s going to happen at any given moment,” she gushed. “I feel like I’m reliving my childhood. I just hate leaving home. These days when I travel, I try to make it not longer than 48 hours as it’s too disruptive. Unless I can do a job in and out, then the kids have to come with.”
Earlier this summer, Campbell told the Sunday Timeshow much she adores her children. “My babies are everything to me. It’s made me fear for the future,” she said. “I hope for a better world for my children. They are 110 percent my priority. I have to be there for them on their first day at school.”
Campbell may not have become a mom until later in life, but it’s clear she’s jumped into motherhood wholeheartedly. We couldn’t be happier for her!
