Earlier this year, insiders dished on the reason for George Clooney and Amal Clooney’s move to France: all for their sake and to improve the quality of life for their twins, Ella and Alexander. We’ve gotten bits and pieces of their new life as a family of four in France, and insiders just now revealed something about the twins many fans didn’t know about.
Insiders recently told Closer Weekly that the Clooney twins speak French! “They love the countryside and the lifestyle. Amal and the twins speak French, and George is taking lessons,” they said to the outlet.
Now, this isn’t a huge shock when you remember that they live in France, and that their mom speaks three languages. (Per Times Mojo, Amal speaks fluent English, French, and Arabic, as well as conversational Italian.)
Now, at seven years old, they actually speak two other languages fluently: English and Italian.
Back in 2021, George told E! News’ Daily Pop, “They speak fluent Italian, but Amal and I do not. That’s a flaw in our logic, right there.”
For those that don’t know, George and Amal Alamuddin, a prominent human rights lawyer, met back in 2013 through a mutual friend, and by the following year, they married! They later welcomed twins on June 6, 2017, named Ella and Alexander, 7.
“And then we had these two knuckleheads,” Clooney joked on CBS Sunday Morning about deciding to be a dad. “It is very fulfilling and something I wasn’t at all… didn’t see coming. We never talked about having kids, and then one day we just said, ‘What do you think?’ We go to the doctor and you do the ultrasound. They’re like, ‘You got a baby boy!’ and I was like, ‘Baby boy, fantastic!’ And they go, ‘And you got another one there.’ I was up for one. Again, I’m old. All of a sudden, it’s two. It’s hard to get me to not talk and I just stood there for like 10 minutes just staring at this piece of paper going, ‘What? Two?’ “
