Salma Hayek is celebrating her daughter Valentina’s birthday, but she’s also already feeling the separation anxiety coming on; and so many parents can relate.
On Sept 21, Hayek shared a series of videos and photos of her daughter Valentina for her birthday. She shared everything to her Instagram with the caption in both English and Spanish reading, “My baby last birthday at home (for now) Im already having separation anxiety she makes me laugh all day, teaches me so many things, keeps me motivated, inspires in so many ways makes me want to dance sing and cook and makes life so exciting I love you sooooooooo much mi Vale 💋🙏♥️.”
In the post, we get a video of a younger, face-painted Valentina talking to the camera as well as a bunch of heartwarming, silly throwback pics of her wearing colorful looks and costumes.
Then, we end with a more recent pic of Valentina celebrating her birthday in style: with a white bandeau top, jean shorts, and black boots.
We totally get Hayek’s separation anxiety, they grow up so fast! But for now, we’re hoping they make the most of their time before Valentina becomes an official adult.
Happy belated birthday, Valentina!
For those who don’t know, Hayek and her husband François-Henri Pinault announced they were expecting and engaged back in March 2007. They welcomed their daughter Valentina, 17, in Sept. of that year.
Hayek is also the proud stepmother of François-Henri’s children from past relationships named François, born in 1998, Mathilde, born in 2001, and Augustin James, born in 2006.
In a previous interview for Vogue’s What’s in my Bag?, Valentina gave rare details about her hobbies, showing off her vintage camera, saying, “I take photos of my friends with disposable cameras.”
Hayek added, “I like her photos a lot. She always has an interesting point of view. She loves photography and loves everything to be vintage.”
