Joseph Gordon-Levitt just gave super-rare details about life with his wife, Tasha McCauley, and their three children. And trust us, his latest revelation shows he not only has a way with words, but he truly loves everything about fatherhood.
During a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Gordon-Levitt revealed why he loves being a dad, and how fatherhood feels like a “time machine.”
“One of the things I love about being a dad is that you feel like you’ve gone back in a time machine in a way,” he said. “You feel like you’re getting to live your life again, but from a different angle.”
“Because they’re experiencing so many of the things that I remember experiencing — whether it’s learning to walk or going to school. Or learning a skill and it’s hard at first, but you have to keep working on it and then finally you get it,” he added. “But of course, I remember it from my perspective, not from their perspective. Now I’m getting to experience it again from the dad perspective!”
Isn’t that so touching? Gordon-Levitt truly described fatherhood so beautifully, and so honestly. While we don’t get many details from him about his private life, he brings us to tears every time he divulges something.
For those who don’t know, back in Dec 2014, the 10 Things I Hate About You star married McCauley, the founder and CEO of technology company Fellow Robots. They were linked a year prior, and have continued to be quite private over the years.
The pair share three children together. They share two sons together, born in Aug 2015 and June 2017. They also secretly welcomed a daughter in 2022, but didn’t reveal so until 2024. Along with being private about their relationship, they’re also private about their children’s identities.
