Keke Palmer put in a valiant effort on the tennis court, but she met her match — at least, when it comes to the cuteness factor. The Nope star just shared several new photos of her fiercest competitor, 19-month-old son Leo, and he is a tiny tennis king!
In the new snaps, Leo looks adorable in a Mallorca sweater, which comes from one of Spain’s Balearic Islands, with a blue parrot picture on the front. Little jeans (cuffed at the bottom!) and black sneakers complete the cute look. In the first picture, he stands up proudly next to his mom, holding her light blue racquet in one hand. Palmer looks trendy as always, in a cream skirt-and-sweater shirt combo with a matching headband and white sneakers.
Leo smiles by himself in another photo, still holding the racquet and posing next to a net, with neon yellow tennis balls spread out all over the field. It’s every kid’s dream!
There were also photos from when Leo was asleep in the stroller and as he looked tired at the end of the day resting in his mom’s arms.
The post shared on Leo’s Instagram account was written from his perspective. “I played tennis with my mommy this past week!” it said. “She was playing first while I was sleeping, then I woke up and immediately ran to the racket!”
And it wasn’t the only sport he played. “I tried soccer too, more pictures coming soon :),” the caption added. We bet that’ll be so adorable too!
The Bosses star recently shared photos of her and Leo, this time channeling the ‘90s aesthetic in matching letterman jackets. “Forever loving you my sweet son!” she wrote in part, adding, “I don’t want to miss a moment with this kid here. I remember when he was born like it was yesterday. I’m not being mushy, I’m being fr!!! When did this happen?? I am so blessed! He’s such an awesome human. I’m his mommy but he’s truly his own person.”
In March, Palmer opened up about regaining a sense of childlike wonder since becoming a mom. “Leo’s teaching me that I have a right to enjoy life,” she told PEOPLE, explaining that she “gave up a big part of my childhood” for her career and to support her family.
“We all put off parts of our lives for this career and for this opportunity to find generational wealth … So for me, there was often the feeling [with] my childhood of, ‘Damn, I’m never going to get that moment back,’ that moment that everybody has where they just get to say ‘to hell with it’ and be irresponsible and just be a kid,” she said. “I didn’t have that moment, because I was always having to show up, be on time and hold my own. With my son — not that I’m going to be irresponsible — but my son has given me the permission to explore some of those things I felt I missed out on.”
“And I get to do it with him,” she continued. “We get to have fun together, let our hair down together, and he’s just given me the opportunity to remember what it was like to be a kid again.”
