A fun way to present a friend, teacher, sweetheart, or colleague with a small token for Valentine’s day is to make a cute Valentine’s Day candy holder. Simple to make and cute to display, this treat is sure to brighten anyone’s day!
You’ll need:
A bag of loose candies in a Valentine’s Day theme (conversation hearts, red-hot hearts, chocolate kisses, or Valentine-colored M&Ms all work well!)
Baby food jars with lids
Paint, paint markers
Fabric scraps
Ribbons
White glue
What to do:
Wash and dry empty baby food jars and lids. (Tip: If, like me, you don’t have a baby — get the baby applesauce and eat it as a snack! Baby food is cheap and healthy. At under $1 per jar, you will see that these jars are very economical craft materials, and they come with a bonus snack!)
You can paint the lids using paint and paint markers, and add decorations by drawing hearts or Xs and Os onto your jar and lid. Alternatively, cut a circular scrap of fabric and decorate it with hearts or designs.
Fill your jars with candies. Put on the lid.
If using fabric, you can secure the fabric to the lid using glue, or you can tie a ribbon around the top of the jar.
Voila! A lovely Valentine’s treat for that special someone. This is a fun treat to leave on someone’s desk when they least expect it!
