Brian Olson
Captain of the U.S. Judo Olympic team, Brian Olson, 35, is a four-time Olympian. He started training in judo at age 6 — nearly three decades ago and went to the Olympics in 1996, 2000 and 2004. After the 2004 Olympic games though, he retired. Olson is hoping that the fourth time will be the charm for winning an Olympic medal.
However, when opportunity knocked for one more Olympic tour, Olson decided to give it a go — if only for the medal. “I’ve got a pregnant wife at home and stuff like that. She said, ‘If this is something you want to do, you need to do it completely and don’t hold anything back,’ ” Olson told Tallahassee.com.
