Hot prom dresses and accessories

Tanning is so last year

Getting a tan for prom is nearly as traditional as wearing a corsage. Many girls spend months working on the perfect prom tan, knowing full well that tanning increases the risk of skin cancer. The State of Texas is taking proactive steps to decrease this health risk. A bill has been proposed to requiring anyone under the age of 18 to have a doctor’s note and be accompanied by a parent when visiting a tanning salon.

Bronze skin is not a beauty requirement. More and more young celebrities are embracing their fair skin and gracing the red carpet without a hint of a tan. We’re even seeing less of the orangey, fake-bake look (much to the fashion critics’ delight). Take your inspirations from porcelain-skinned beauties, including Dakota Fanning, AnnaSophia Robb, Anne Hathaway, Rose McGowan, Avril Lavigne, Emma Roberts and Rumer Willis.
