Baby shower and registry checklist

Clothing

Onesies: Sure, frilly dresses and itty-bitty three-piece suits are cute, but what you’ll really need are one-piece bodysuits. Lots of them. They’re comfortable, versatile and easy to get little arms in and out of in a jiffy.

Two to try:
Bubele Baby mix-and-match sets are made from 100 percent cotton that’s combed and “peached” for a luxurious soft feel. Each set includes a bodysuit, lounge pants and double-knotted hat. Unique to these is the patent-pending loop sewn into the side seam, to which you can attach a pacifier with the included Pacifier Snappy.

First Step Organics bodysuits are super-soft, long-sleeved kimono-style bodysuits with cleverly positioned, nickel-free snap buttons. They are made from 100 percent organic cotton and are toxin free.

Gowns/Sleep sacks: Great for sleep and play, gowns make diaper changes easy (no snaps to fumble with in the middle of the night). Sleep sacks are zip-up nightgowns that keep baby warm without the need for additional blankets — a SIDS risk factor.

Some to try:
Carter’s sells coordinating sets with two gowns for under $10.

Next up: baby gear
