City-Inspired Baby Names for Jet-Setting Girls

One trend you may have noticed in baby names is to name children after destinations. London, Savannah or Brooklyn, perhaps? The Social Security Administration first noticed the trend in 2008, and city and state names remain in the top 1,000 baby names today.

Some parents name their baby after a city, state or country because it was a place they visited during their honeymoon, anniversary or another special trip. Some places have a historical or family tie they want to acknowledge. Other parents admit this special place is where the baby was actually conceived or maybe even born.
