Lisa Ling launched a new website community, Secret Society of Women, to stop women from keeping their secrets bottled up inside. Read on to learn what inspired the Secret Society of Women.
Lisa Ling felt like an “incredible failure” when she suffered a miscarriage six months ago. The 32-year-old journalist and television personality is used to being competent and ambitious, and losing her baby was something she couldn’t control.
Ling told the ladies on her former show, The View, that she was hesitant to speak out on her experience. However, she wanted to find a way to end the stigma women feel about the issues in their life — that’s why she launched her new website Secret Society of Women.
Secret Society of Women
The Secret Society of Women is designed to be a place where women can go to “divulge our deepest secrets about how we look, what we regret, who we fantasize about, what we aspire to do, or whatever else we’ve been keeping inside of us.”
The Secret Society of Women website is set up to serve as a community where women can share their inner secrets in a supportive environment, without the judgment of the outside world. Users must register with the site to participate, and topics are broken down into secrets, daily wish, wisdom and faves. There’s also a resource page where women can go to for help, along with a blog.
