As far as the boy names that are shooting up the baby name lists, check out the top 50 fastest movers below. The fastest climbing boy’s name of the year is Bentley. This name rose up in popularity thanks to Teen Mom’s Maci Bookout and her baby son Bentley. It is interesting to note that the name Maci is the fastest moving girl’s name!

Twilight is responsible for Jacob’s popularity, and it could also be the reason for the name Kellan! Actor Kellan Lutz plays the vampire Emmett in the Twilight saga. Other Twilight names on the list include Cullen (as in Edward Cullen), Emmett and Jasper. Another vampire influence is on the list with Damon — Ian Somerhalder’s character on The Vampire Diaries.

Celebrity baby names also have an influence on the list, with Knox (son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt),  Axel (son of Will Ferrell) and Gideon (son of Neil Patrick Harris).

Finally, it is interesting to note that “x” names, such as Knox, Jax, Dexter, Axel and Maximilian are popular, as are names ending in –son, such as Greyson, Easton, Karson.
