Easy Thanksgiving Crafts Even Little Kids Can Pull Off

Thanksgiving hand wreath craft

Use this craft to talk about hands and how we can use them to be helpful and kind to others.

Supplies:

• Pencil
• Orange, red, yellow and brown construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Ribbon (optional)

Directions:

1. Using the pencil, trace your child’s hand 4 to 6 times onto each color of paper.
2. Using the scissors, cut out each handprint.
3. Alternate colors while gluing the palm of each handprint together, keeping the fingers pointed toward the outside of the wreath.
4. If desired, cut a piece of ribbon, tie it in a bow and attach it to the top or bottom of the wreath.

Thankful tree craft

This is a perfect way to document the amazing, funny and honest things your child says. Yes, the example above has pretty standard responses, but if your kids are anything like ours, there will also be plenty of “I’m thankful for yellow” and “I’m thankful for outer space”… you get the idea. You’ll be sure to keep this Thanksgiving craft for years to come.

Supplies:

• Pencil
• Brown, orange and yellow construction paper
• Black marker
• Scissors
• Blue card stock paper
• Glue stick

Directions:

1. Using the pencil, draw a tree trunk with bare branches on the brown construction paper.
2. Using the black marker, write, “I am thankful for… ” on the tree trunk.
3. Using the scissors, cut out the tree and glue it to the blue card stock.
4. Cut leaves out of the brown, orange and yellow construction paper.
5. Ask your child what he or she is thankful for, and write 1 answer on each leaf (if your child is old enough, they can write on the leaves themselves).
6. Glue the leaves around the branches of the tree.
