If “I’m bored” are two words you’re not going to put up with this spring break, you can head your children off at the pass by making a plan. Read on for a schedule of crafts, projects and ideas that will fill your children’s spring break calendar with fun (and in the meantime, you might get a few things done too).
Day #1: Crafts
With Easter just around the corner and brightly colored flowers beginning to bloom (hopefully!), let spring be the inspiration for today’s arts and crafts. Ideas: with some or all of the following list of supplies (feel free to add your own/improvise), your kids can make spring animal crafts, design Easter cards, create collages or color spring coloring pages from the Sheknows activity center.

Day #2: Baking
Give your children aprons and chef hats and hit the kitchen. They’ll love making any of these 5 fun baking recipes — especially because it means they’ll get a sweet treat at the end.
Day #3: Make believe
As parents, you can’t underestimate the importance of play. Let your children turn your living room or another area of the house into a fort or play area. Give them a box of old Halloween costumes, clothes and accessories and let them loose. They can put on a performance, play house, play school — just make believe!

Day #4: Field trip
It’s time to get out of the house. Why not take a family field trip with a twist. Think of all of those vacations you’ve planned. Now it’s time to put the children in charge of where you’ll be going. Put all of their suggestions in a hat and draw the “lucky” winner. Cross your fingers that you don’t end up in the indoor paintball gym!
Day #5: Games
It’s game day! Make it a competition with prizes handed out at the end. Start inside with a few board games. Then move outdoors and play any of these fun outdoor games for kids. At the end of the day, have an awards ceremony and hand out the honors.
Day #6: Physical activity
Get the kids moving with some physical activity. It never hurts to let the kids burn off a little steam. And why not have them get some exercise and have fun while they’re doing it? Have them try any of these fun outdoor activities.
Day #7: School work
After such a fun week, you’re sure to hear moans and groans about school starting again, but it is the reality. So help the kids get their brains back in the game! But instead of giving them a boring refresher course of what they’ll need to know when they’re back in the classroom, give them a fun quiz instead. Call it the “spring break challenge” and test them only on things they did during the week — a fun way to look back on the seven days. As always, offer prizes for a job well done!
