Pinterest is one of the hottest new social media trends. Pinning has become the “cool” thing to do. How can moms use Pinterest? Here are 5 ways!
Pin away mama!
I tried to stay away, I just couldn’t.
In October of this past year, my best friend URGED me to try out Pinterest. She kept saying to me, “Audrey – you’ll LOVE it!” I was 100-percent skeptical. What was so fascinating about pinning images and quotes and personal photos?
Well, I quickly answered my own question. It was fascinating to create my own personal boards and really get into the spirit of connecting online with other people through our shared love of what we were pinning.
So – what is Pinterest exactly (which is what my sister-in-law just asked me when I told her I was writing this column today).
Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. I used to create “dream boards” in my bedroom at home when I was a child, and I feel like this is the grown-up, digital version of my “dream board.”
You can organize and share all the things you find and love and covet online.
According to Pinterest, “People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes. Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.”

I’m a mom beauty blogger, so I can tell you without question how useful Pinterest is for me. The “How-to’s” through photos are incredible for me to then use on my blog. I love sharing the tips because they’re so quick and easy for me to use for my audience, simply from a pin!
Crafts GALORE
There are thousands of crafting blogs online for moms. If you’re one of them, you will absolutely fall in love with the amount of craft projects that are shared on Pinterest. You have the ability to create boards around crafting projects – seasonal, family-friendly, food-related, floral, etc. It’s great content for you to use on your blogs.
