Moms share: My family’s best spring break vacation

Spring break is one of the best times to gather your family and get out of town. With winter weather beginning to fade everyone is eager to spend some time just relaxing and having fun. Whether your spring break involves planes, trains or automobiles — or simply a walk to the park — it’s time to get out and get together. We spoke to some of our favorite moms, who shared their best family spring break trip stories.

Shhh… it’s a secret!

My own family’s favorite spring break vacation was so much fun starting with the planning — because we didn’t tell the kids! We decided to take the kids to Florida to see Disney World and everything else that we could cram into a week. We made all of the arrangements behind their backs, packing all of their clothes and everything.

On the morning of the trip, we got them in the car by claiming we were going “for a drive” and drove to the airport. They were really curious by now, but we still didn’t let the cat out of the bag. By the time they figured out we were boarding a flight to Florida, they were so excited! I will always remember that trip, and how fun it was to trick the kids. We had a great time, saw everything from the beaches to Kennedy Space Center to Disney World. I would never be able to pull that off now that my kids are teenagers.
