Handmade stepping stone
What you’ll need:
- stepping stone mix
- glass stones
- natural stones
- measuring cup
- bowl
- spoon
- metal pie tin
What you’ll do:
- Mix the stepping stone mix (available at craft stores) with water according to the package instructions.
- Stir the stepping stone mix and the water together in a large bowl until the ingredients are well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture into the metal pie tin and smooth out the surface.
- While it’s still wet, press the glass stones into the surface of the stepping stone. You can create flowers by pressing in one glass stone to form the center and surrounding it with five glass stones to create the petals.
- Fill in the rest of the surface of the stepping stone with natural stones.
- Set the stepping stone in a safe place to dry for 2 to 3 days. Once it is dry you can remove it from the pie tin and place it outside.
Clay bead necklace
What you’ll need:
- bakeable polymer clay
- baking sheet
- bamboo skewer
- jewelry cord
What you’ll do:
- Break the polymer clay into 1/2-inch cubes.
- Roll the clay between your palms to form a round ball.
- Gently poke the bamboo skewer through the center of the bead, then remove.
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees F and bake the beads on a baking sheet for 30 minutes.
- Remove the beads from the oven and allow them to cool completely
- Thread the beads on the jewelry cord and tie a knot in the cord to close the necklace.
Colorful daisies
What you’ll need:
- white daisies
- scissors
- plastic cups
- measuring cup
- food coloring
What you’ll do:
- Fill your plastic cups with 1/2 cup warm water. You will need 1 plastic cup for every color you plan to use.
- Add 20 drops of food coloring to each cup.
- Cut the flower stems at an angle. You will want to cut the flower stems down to 6 inches or less.
- Place the flowers in the colored water and let them sit for 24 to 48 hours to soak up the dye.
