The world’s second-largest kangaroo conservatory is located outside Atlanta? You bet! Georgia is full of activities and attractions the whole family can enjoy ranging from full days at theme parks to an evening under the stars. Here are a few of our top picks for families activities in Georgia.
George Coleman Planetarium
The George Coleman Planetarium is part of North Georgia College & State University and every Friday during the semester, the planetarium puts on a free educational show. The projections are detailed and with all of the special lighting effects, viewers really feel like they’re on a voyage into the solar system. The projections of the sun, stars, and five planets you can see without a telescope are shot onto a massive 30-foot diameter dome. With the capacity to replicate the sky at any time of day, from anywhere in the world, at any epoch, the show will definitely transport you into the starry ether.
