April: Fiesta San Antonio
Fiesta San Antonio is an 11-day, city-wide festival that includes over 100 events put on by local non-profit organizations. Nearly 3.5 million people attend Fiesta events each spring with an economic impact of over $280 million. The events include parades, fairs, concerts, shows, parties, the carnival and much more. Popular Fiesta activities include Oyster Bake, NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio), A Taste of New Orleans, Battle of Flowers Parade and King William Fair. February: San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo
Founded in 1950 and held for two weeks each February, the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is one of the largest and long running annual rodeo events in the country. In addition to the actual rodeo, stock show and horse show, this festival features a fair and carnival that is enjoyed by children of all ages. You can also experience nightly live entertainment from some of top musical acts in the country. The events take place at the AT&T Center and on the Freeman Coliseum Grounds next door.

April: Poteet Strawberry Festival
Held each year in April, this three-day event is the largest agricultural festival in Texas. The annual festival takes place in Poteet, 25 minutes outside San Antonio, on a 100-acre site off Highway 16. In addition to the strawberry judging contest and the other agricultural events, the festival features Country Western and Tejano music, an arts and crafts show, festival rodeo, carnival, animal shows, food contests, commercial exhibits, magicians, helicopter rides, nightly dances, fireworks and much more. With over 100,000 visitors annually, the festival generates $10-$12 million in revenue into the south Texas economy.

November: Ford Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony
Every year on the Friday following Thanksgiving, the switch is thrown and over 120,000 twinkling lights illuminate the San Antonio River Walk. The lighting ceremony is followed by a parade, and marks the beginning of the local holiday festivities. During the parade, celebrities, musicians and other performers ride on illuminated floats as over 150,000 people gather on the River Walk to watch. The event is also viewed by millions of people watching the television broadcast. The lighting ceremony and parade have been a San Antonio tradition for over 20 years. The light spectacular stays up until New Year’s Day.

December 31: Celebrate San Antonio Festival
Each New Year’s Eve downtown San Antonio comes alive with the Celebrate San Antonio festival. You can enjoy live music and entertainment on six outdoor stages, over 50 food and beverage booths, carnival games and much more. They even have a special children’s area in La Villita where your wee ones can enjoy the evening. The Celebrate San Antonio festival culminates at midnight with a spectacular fireworks extravaganza. The San Antonio Parks Foundation, along with the Parks and Recreation Department, produces the annual New Year’s Eve event which attracts approximately 250,000 people each year.
