February through April: Arizona Renaissance Festival

Take a day trip out to the wildly popular and entertaining Arizona Renaissance Festival. That is, if you want to be more than spectators and participate in activities while surrounded by entertainment, escape the everyday world and be transported to another place and time. This Festival transports visitors to a European style country fair filled with an agreeable rabble of knights, rogues, royalty and craftsmen, all roaming throughout a 30-acre charm-filled village with 200 quaint shops, 12 stages of non-stop entertainment, an arena for full-contact armored jousting, kitchens, pubs and people powered games and rides.

May: Cinco de Mayo Festival

This two-day festival celebrates Cinco de Mayo, Mexico’s victory over the French in the 1864 Battle of Puebla. This festival is viewed as the Southwest’s largest and most significant cultural showcase for Valley residents and tourists alike. The festival receives support from the City of Phoenix and the Valley’s corporate community. Its highlights have included an array of top international and local entertainers such as Los Lonely Boys

May: Annual Peach Festival

The Schnepf Farms orchards will be open for picking! The festival includes peach foods sampling tent, peach pie eating contest, peach pit toss, arts and crafts, carousel rides, petting barn, honeybee rides, chef demonstrations and live entertainment. The event is free; however there is a charge for food and rides.

MARCH: Chandler Ostrich Festival

For three fun-filled days in March, Tumbleweed Park in Chandler, Arizona will resound with music, excitement and laughter. Two stages spotlight a diverse sampling of great music, while a huge midway provides excitement to thousands of festival fans. Ostrich races complete with human jockeys are a sight unique to Chandler! Like any world class festival, all kinds of food will be available from the traditional fair favorites to Ostrich burgers. Complete with kids zone and petting zoo, this festival is one for every member of the family!

December and March: Tempe Festival of the Arts

The Tempe Festival of the Arts consistently ranks among the Top 20 art festivals in the nation by Sunshine Artist and has received the Pinnacle Award from the International Festival and Events Association. While the Tempe Festival of the Arts primarily focuses on art and the artists that create it, there are also a wide variety of other activities for guests to enjoy. Live entertainment stages provide musical entertainment for festival-goers. Performances by a number of well-known local musicians keep audiences in high spirits throughout the day.
