Columbus’ Center of Science and Industry is an amazing science museum for the entire family. It was voted the number one science center in the country by a leading parenting magazine. The museum is so large that it is impossible to do it all in one day, so be sure to make a list of your must-see exhibits before you visit. Permanent exhibits about space, the ocean, gadgets and progress are mixed in with fascinating temporary exhibits about subjects like the Titanic and Grossology. There is also an IMAX theater.

Columbus Zoo
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium was voted the best zoo in America by the USA Travel Guide. Stretching for 90 acres, the zoo is home to more than 700 wildlife species including big cats, elephants, gorillas, manatees and bonobos. In 2004, the zoo welcomed Bodhi, a baby Asian elephant born at the zoo. From Thanksgiving through the New Year, the zoo is transformed by the Wildlights exhibit which remains open late.

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens
The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens displays a wide range of flora and fauna both indoors and outdoors. This is a wonderful destination to let children roam amongst nature all year round. The conservatory holds exciting events throughout the year including blooms and butterflies in the spring, gingerbread house contests, and popular summer camps. A permanent exhibit of beautiful Chihuly glass sculptures is woven throughout the plant exhibits. Children can see how the sculptures are made at the glass blowing demonstrations.
