Miami attractions for families and kids

There’s more to Miami than sizzling nightlife. Miami boasts family-friendly attractions and stunning beaches.

Zoo Miami

In 2010, Miami Metrozoo celebrated its 30th birthday with a new logo and name and many upgrades around the zoo. This year, the Wacky Barn opened in the Children’s Zoo, with opportunities for kids to feed the sheep, goats and horses. At Zoo Miami, kids can climb aboard a Wildlife Carousel or take a ride on a real camel for just $5. Parents and older kids will love the Amazon & Beyond exhibit, featuring over 100 species and 600 animals. The zoo is open year-round, so make it part of your next visit to sunny Miami.

Miami Beach

The gorgeous turquoise water along the shores of Miami Beach is a must-see when visiting South Florida. Rent bikes, strap on some rollerblades or simply stroll along the boardwalk to take in the sounds and the sights of vibrant Miami Beach. During the day, the area is populated with sunbathing, sports enthusiasts and families congregating in the soft white sand. Older kids and teens will love a Jet Ski ride while little ones can build sandcastles along the powdery shore.

Miami Children’s Museum

The first thing your family will notice about Miami Children’s Museum is the stunning modern exterior. The museum stands at a picturesque plot of land along the water, and features exciting outdoor playgrounds for getting out all that extra energy before or after being in the car. The extensive museum includes play areas for toddlers and interactive exhibits that will capture the imaginations of everyone in the family. Kids can operate a bank, a grocery store, a cruise ship or climb into a two-story sandcastle built with sand from around the world. Don’t miss the World Music Studio, where the whole family can visit a recording studio.
