The annual ZooLights festival at Chicago‘s Lincoln Park Zoo is not to be missed this holiday season! Kids and adults alike will marvel at the millions of lights that sparkle throughout the zoo.
ZooLights at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo
A trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo nestled in Chicago’s trendy Lincoln Park neighborhood is always a fun time for the family. Admission is free and the 1,200 animals that live there range from lions to tigers to bears. (Oh my!) So why not visit the zoo during its annual ZooLights festival? It’s yet another unique way to enjoy one of the city’s greatest attractions.
The perfect holiday excursion for you and the family, ZooLights is a chance to visit your favorite animals while taking in a spectacular light show. The zoo is transformed into a winter wonderland with millions of twinkling lights covering nearly every square inch of the grounds. You’ll no doubt be in awe as you take in over one hundred light displays including giant snow globes, snowmen, soldiers and, of course, animal figurines.
As you sip a hot beverage and listen to carolers singing your favorite holiday tunes, the little ones can watch live ice carving, pay a visit to Santa in his safari while surrounded by life-like gorillas and crocodiles, ride the Holiday Express train, go round and round on the carousel, make crafts and even decorate cookies. You’ll even be able to get some shopping done. And be sure to check out the synchronized music and light show. It’s a holiday experience not to be missed.
The annual Lincoln Park ZooLights exhibit opens the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, Nov. 25 and runs through Jan. 1 2012.
