Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival

Every spring the sweet smell of maple syrup signals it’s time for the Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival. Tour maple syrup camps and see what it takes to make pancake’s favorite topping. Enjoy fresh and hot pancakes with pure maple syrup while listening to live entertainment. Observe wood carving and chain saw carving demonstrations. Watch the parade and take home maple syrup-flavored jelly beans.

Jasper Strassenfest

Celebrate German heritage in America at this four-day family oriented street festival in downtown Jasper. Enjoy food, music, dancing, rides, games, vendors, a beer garden, car show and more. Witness the crowing of Miss Strassenfest. No German festival is complete without bratwurst, and this festival goes through about 1,500 pounds. This four-day affair concludes with a parade and evening fireworks.

Feast of the Hunters’ Moon

Each year in early autumn, tens of thousands of visitors converge on Fort Ouiatenon on the Wabash River for the Feast of the Hunter’s Moon. Thousands of participants come together to create an authentic reenactment of the annual fall gathering of French and Native Americans. Traditional costuming and traditional foods from the period transport spectators to the mid-18th century. Enjoy Native American drummers, folk music, folk singers, drum corps and live history presentations.

Marshall County Blueberry Festival

Make plans to attend the Marshall County Blueberry Festival over Labor Day weekend. This family-friendly four-day event boasts games, activities, food and more. Attend the horse show, tractor pull, car show, hot air balloon launch, carnival, parade and fireworks. Throughout the festival watch countless sports tournaments, including more traditional sports like softball and tennis to the more unconventional like skateboarding and arm wrestling. Over 100 food booths of all things blueberry and hundreds of vendors are present.

Parke County Covered Bridge Festival

Each year, the second Friday of October marks the beginning of Indiana’s largest festival, the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival, which celebrates the county’s 31 covered bridges. Nine communities are part of the festival with the main event occurring at Rockville’s Courthouse lawn. Walk, drive or ride the daily bus tours to the honored bridges. Enjoy the countless arts and crafts vendors, food and entertainment.
