Tupelo Buffalo Park & Zoo – Tupelo, Mississippi

Take a trip to where the buffalo roam at Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo. Here you’ll get a once-in-a-lifetime look at these massive animals that you will always remember.

Tupelo Buffalo Park & Zoo

Experience wildlife up-close and personal in a natural environment at the Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo. The entire family will enjoy riding alongside these grand creatures as you take a tour of the roaming buffalo herds as you’re perched aboard the Monster Bison Bus or open air trolley. Learn about buffalo, their history in this region and even get a chance to hand-feed them. At the zoo, be on the lookout for exotic animals like tigers, monkeys, lions, giraffes and kangaroos. Continue to get to know the animals in a more intimate setting by participating in animal feedings or visiting the petting zoo. Don’t forget to pack a picnic lunch. There’s an excellent picnic area and an expansive playground for children to enjoy. Children will also love riding on the live merry-go-round of ponies. Can’t get enough of the horses? Let older children saddle up and tour the park on horseback. Then extend your time at the zoo by camping out under the stars in the Chickasaw Indian Village, where you can stay in one of the camp structures or authentic teepees. There are other events and special activities throughout the year — one in particular that family members young and old will enjoy is the annual rodeo in the fall. Watch as cowboys ride, rope and wrestle livestock.
