While the price of admission may seem a bit steep, entrance to Busch Gardens Williamsburg is well worth the price. Voted “world’s most beautiful park” for the last 22 years, the park not only offers beautiful scenery but also top-notch shows, unique shopping and dining, rides for everyone and even a chance to interact with unique animal ambassadors.
Busch Gardens, Williamsburg
The park has a European theme and is divided into countries. Within those countries, guests will find attractions, exhibits, food, and shopping representative of that nation. Purchase Waterford crystal from the Emerald Isle in Ireland, watch artisans paint in Italy or watch a show and dine at Das Festhaus in Germany (a classic Busch Gardens experience that should be had at least once!).
Rides are designed for all levels of thrill-seekers. For the most adventurous, Busch Gardens offers five roller coasters, including the classic Loch Ness Monster and the brand-new Verbolten. Water lovers will be excited to find Le Scoot, a traditional log flume ride, Escape from Pompeii, and the Roman Rapids. While a trip on one of these may be refreshing on a hot day, you may want to bring a change of clothes, as a soaking is sometimes an understatement. Classic-ride lovers will appreciate the fact that Busch Gardens offers attractions such as bumper cars, swings and a carousel. And for those who want the tamest experience possible, Busch Gardens offers a train ride around the park’s perimeter or a boat ride along the river.
Families with young children will be delighted with all the options built just for them. Special child-size rides are located throughout the park, along with two special areas designed just for the park’s youngest guests. Little ones will surely be excited to enter the Sesame Street Forest of Fun and meet their favorite characters.
With so much to see and so much fun to be had, one day at Busch Gardens may not be enough. Luckily, Virginia residents can purchase a whole-season pass for the same price as a one-day admission ticket, so you can come back as much as you want.
