Might as well start the new year off right. Find out just what’s in the stars for you and your kiddos this year. Because information is (star) power when it comes to the zodiac, and you’d best not get blindsided.

And if the stars have any say at all, it looks like 2019 is going to be one for the books. So let’s all bid the shit show that was 2018 a fond farewell and focus on what lies ahead. Read on to find out what the planets have in store for you and your tots for 2019.
Aries: March 21 – April 19
Your Aries kid starts the year off with a bang. “January is a month of strong drive and ambition. For most of 2019, your pioneering little Aries focuses on expanding their horizons. It could be a political cause or something else they believe in. They’ll be in the mood for a good adventure or a quest of some sort this year,” Vogel comments.
So go for it. Take them on a trip somewhere to a place they haven’t been yet. They’ll meet the adventure with wide-open eyes, and you’ll make incredible memories.
Taurus: April 20 – May 20
“Expect your gentle Taurus kid to suddenly develop a strong desire to want to express themselves in a new way starting in March,” warns Vogel. They may very well decide to try out a new look or present themselves in a new way to others. “If you unexpectedly feel like you have a little rebel on your hands, don’t squash them. They’re doing important work in developing their identity,” Vogel adds. They may also suddenly be interested in earning money and have some great business ideas.
Gemini: May 21 – June 21
Your usual social butterfly of a child may decide they’d like a best friend this year. If they happen to have one, that relationship may grow stronger. “They’ll be given the opportunity a few times during the year — when their planetary ruler, Mercury, goes retrograde — to check in with their inner world and see what’s happening. So your busy, expressive Gemini may be a little more moody and sensitive this year. They may also need a tiny bit more alone time. Nothing is wrong. They are just needing to understand more about what’s happening on the inside rather than always being focused on the outside,” observes Vogel.
Cancer: June 22 – July 22
“This may be the year your Cancer kid decides they like to start doing some chores around the house and earning some money. Service will feel expansive to them this year,” Vogel states. Just be sure the way they serve is something that feels important to them. They’ll really want to make a meaningful contribution.
It will also feel good to have a little more structure and routine in their daily lives. “The first part of 2019 is an exciting time for them, particularly on the home front,” remarks Vogel.
Leo: July 23 – Aug. 22
Your lucky Leo starts off the year with a boost. “January brings the opportunity for excitement and making a fresh start. Your bright, shiny Leo may become even shinier this year. They’ll love to have fun — more than they usually do — and it will feel good for them to focus on their personal creativity and self-expression,” Vogel says.
They may even try on a new form of expression to show the world after March. “This is what I want to be when I grow up, Mom” may suddenly and unexpectedly changed this year. Your little baby isn’t such a little baby anymore.
Virgo: Aug. 23 – Sept. 22
For Virgo kids, 2019 is a year for introspection and tuning into their feelings. “When their planetary ruler, Mercury, goes retrograde three times this year — March, July and November — in zodiacal water signs, you may notice an increase in their sensitivity,” Vogel cautions. They’ll enjoy curling up with a good book or staying home more than usual. (Looks like there’s some family Netflix-binging going to happen.)
Home and their relationship with Mom and Dad will bring them a lot of joy and opportunity this year.
Libra: Sept. 23 – Oct. 22
“March and April are illuminating months for Libras, with two full moons in their home sign,” Vogel tells SheKnows.
School will feel expansive, and they’ll be given some new opportunities to stretch and grow in school (if they haven’t shown up already).
“Siblings, cousins, neighbors — these are areas that are up for growth and expansion for your sweet Libra. So a new sibling, cousin or neighbor may be in store for your little one,” observed Vogel.
Scorpio: Oct. 23 – Nov. 21
“2019 may be the year that your strong but sensitive little Scorpio shows an interest in earning their own money,” continues Vogel. If you want to encourage them but aren’t sure how, cleaning out their room, getting rid of what they don’t need and organizing their “stuff” will be a good idea for them. See if you can help them with that, Mama.
“The beginning of November brings them inside of themselves so they can shoot strongly into a more expressed and true version of themselves on Nov. 19. The end of the year finishes strong for Scorpios!” says Vogel.
Sagittarius: Nov. 22 – Dec. 21
It’s certainly a lucky year for your Saggie kid. “Opportunities and expansion await them this year. They’ll be given opportunities to shine more brightly in the world. They’ll have a chance to step into their personal beliefs in a big way; starting in March, they may have some new ideas about ways they like to help others. A dog-walking service, a creative new-fangled version of a lemonade stand or some other genius idea may come to them this year,” says Vogel. The world is their oyster in 2019, so be ready.
Capricorn: Dec. 22 – Jan. 19
It’s another focused year for your Capricorn kid. “Starting in March, they may decide to express themselves in a unique and unusual way,” declares Vogel.
Your practical, no-nonsense kid may also have a very active dream life this year along with a strong intuition. “December is a lucky time for them, as Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, moves into their home sign followed by a solar eclipse later in the month.
Cappies like to plan, so 2019 gets them ready and prepared for many possibilities waiting for them in 2020,” Vogel says.
Aquarius: Jan. 20 – Feb. 18
“Your Aquarius child may suddenly decide on a new way to decorate their room this year. They definitely have a unique way to express themselves, and starting in March, they’ll want to do that at home,” remarks Vogel.
New possibilities in their social life and also new goals they have for themselves will show up this year (if they haven’t already). “2019 is the time for them to wish big about the goals they have for themselves and shoot for the stars,” advises Vogel.
Pisces: Feb. 19 – March 20
“2019 is a year for your sweet, sensitive Pisces kid to shine out in the world,” Vogel says. “They may even take some steps towards learning something new about “what they want to do/be when they grow up”. For kids, as we know, that’s a wide-open topic. As always, encourage them to follow their passion and go after what they want,” Vogel adds. In March, they might suddenly decide it’s the time to begin that new learning. Back them up as much as you can, but let them hold the reins.
