The Best Kids Face Masks at Target

It is the most natural thing in the world to expect that we should buy our kids’ face masks at Target. This is, after all, the time of year when we are used to feeling that cool blast of air and seeing the friendly red signage welcoming us into a vast suburban Target store for back-to-school shopping. Even if many of us aren’t quite yearning to step foot in their physical stores, we are happy to report that the retailer has stepped up their online offerings in the face mask department.

The question is, which Target kids face masks are right for your children? This is a crucial decision for back-to-school shopping season, as it’s just about the most noticeable accessory we can imagine until there’s some reason to require kids wear 10-gallon hats adorned with peacock feathers to school. (That is the pandemic we deserve next!)

If you’ve got a younger child, your choice might be on the easy side in terms of decoration: Do they want Paw Patrol or Trolls? L.O.L. Surprise! Dolls, JoJo Siwa, or Batman? Kids who aren’t so into those characters can also choose from some cute shark and flower prints from Cat & Jack kids face mask packs at Target. Printing a favorite character on these masks is such a good move to entice those who were initially put off by the blank looks on everyone’s masked faces. We can’t smile or frown at each other, but we can absolutely unicorn or Superman at them.

For the older or more sophisticated children out there, there are slightly less cutesy prints too. Select a Target kids face mask in a solid color to stand out less, or make a statement with plaid or tie-dye. Better yet, these masks are so inexpensive, you can pick up all of the above. After all, experts say you should be washing reusable masks after every use.

Speaking of experts, you may also be wondering about whether to choose masks that use filters. The official word is that they’re not necessary, but if you are looking for extra protection a few of the varieties of mask packs at Target do have filter pockets. Target isn’t selling filters yet, so you can use the old coffee filter trick instead.

Finally, if you’ve got a kid who loses things that aren’t glued to them, you anticipate being in a particularly icky environment (well, please don’t), or you really hate laundry, you can also opt for the super-cute disposable kids face masks Target sells. We’re kind of excited for September, when they’ll start selling them with Barbie and other licensed characters.
